Anyone else still completely floored from last night's insanely epic Game of Thrones?
Warning: major spoilers below!
"Hardhome" featured one of the biggest fight scenes to date, and the official motto HBO's fantasy series is no longer "winter is coming"...because winter is finally here. A host of White Walkers led an army of the dead, thousands strong, to attack a Wildling camp north of the wall just as Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was visiting to offer safe passage south of the wall to everyone in order to escape the coming danger. Just as hordes of Wildlings were boarding boats to sail south, the dead attacked.
It was brutal. It was bloody. It was chaos. And it was so, so awesome to watch!
Even Harington, who doesn't like to toot his own horn, had to agree with that sentiment.
"You just know when an episode is good and when it's not, and I felt last night's was really, really, really great episode for the series," Harington tells E! News' Alicia Quarles. "I thought the end product of what they produced for 'Hardhome' was amazing."
According to the Game of Thrones star, the cast and crew worked their butts off to shoot that big battle...and their hard work totally paid off.
"We spent a month filming that sequence which was 20 minutes long," Harington says. "A month, a solid month. It equated to about a minute of footage a day. It was heavy and it was important to me that it worked because it's a really important beat in the Game of Thrones story. I thought it was brilliant. I really, really loved it. I was so proud of it and happy with it. I never pat myself on the back but I thought, why not? It was great!"
Now that's the understatement of the season.
