She's also just like us, at least in terms of girl crushes.
With American Crime Story, Paulson has a tough job ahead of her. Not only is she tasked with playing a real, living person, but also a person who Tina Fey has already played/parodied perfectly on Netflix's The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
The FX drama, from executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, follows the infamous murder trial of O.J. Simpson. Paulson plays prosecutor Marcia Clark, and is joined by a cast that includes Cuba Gooding Jr., John Travolta, David Schwimmer, and Selma Blair, just to name a few.
Fey's hysterical portrayal of a bumbling bad-permed prosecutor named Marcia may not have been quite as official as Paulson's is, but the American Horror Story star still feels she has some big shoes to fill.
"The last thing I want to do is try to have to follow Tina Fey!" the actress tells Kristin Dos Santos when asked if she's seen the hilarious Netflix series.
Paulson also had a role in 2012's Game Change, which featured Julianne Moore taking on Sarah Palin after Tina Fey had already done it on Saturday Night Live.
"Here I am going, wait a second, get out of here, lady!" Paulson says of how she's awkwardly sort of following Fey around without meaning to. "But they're good footsteps to be following."
Paulson also has a much closer connection to another awesome lady with the upcoming season of American Horror Story, which stars Lady Gaga. While the two haven't met yet, it sounds like Paulson has already done her fair share of going gaga for Gaga.
"The highlight of my life probably ever was when she tweeted me," Paulson says. "People started texting me going, ‘Oh my god!'"

As for American Horror Story: Hotel, details on the entire season are being kept under wraps. Paulson, however, was too excited to not spill at least a little bit.
"I'm the baddest girl in town, that's all I can say," she tells us. "It's a first for me! I've never really played a character with the real dark side, so I'm excited."
