Bookies have been collecting bets on the name of the second royal baby weeks before she was born—and when she was revealed to in fact be a princess.
Ladbrokes, a British-based gaming company, revealed last month than about 82 percent of participants were confident that Kate Middleton and Prince William would welcome a baby girl. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their first daughter, little sister of Prince William, on Saturday, May 2.
Kate and William debuted their little princess to the public about nine hours after she gave birth (and in style! The duchess even wore heels!). They left St. Mary's Hospital in London with the newborn on Saturday evening local time and have not revealed her name.
Ladbrokes had long put Alice at the top of the list and on Saturday, the name slid to No. 2! Other favorites include Diana, the name of William and brother Prince Harry's late mother Princess Diana, and Elizabeth, who would be the next royal to be named such following current monarch Queen Elizabeth II.
Here is the group's top 20, in order of the best odds:
1. Charlotte
2. Alice
3. Olivia
4. Elizabeth
5. Victoria
6. Alexandra
7. Mary
8. Diana
9. Frances
10. Grace
