The day we've all been waiting for—for the last nine months—has finally arrived! Kate Middleton and Prince William introduced the world to their second child together (officially known as the HRH the Princess of Cambridge, for now) outside St. Mary's Hospital in London on Saturday, May 2.

The spare heir was resting comfortably in a white GH Hurt and Son Ltd swaddled blanket, similar the one Prince George made his debut in—maybe even a hand-me-down from her big brother.

As for the Duchess of Cambridge, surprising and disappointing no one, she was a beacon of mommy radiance with a fresh blowout and natural makeup effect.

And as for that yellow shift dress she was wearing, well,—drum roll please—the 33-year-old's bespoke floral "buttercup" frock was by Jenny Packham. Yes, again

Of course, we all remember in July 2013 when Middleton left the hospital with her firstborn in a custom Jenny Packham number. Kate had the simple blue polka-dot frock specially made in tribute to Princess Diana, who left the same hospital in a similar print with a day-old Prince William in 1982.

And let's not forget way back in July 1984 another spare heir made his debut as Prince Charles and his wife posed with a wee Prince Harry outside of the Lindo Wing. For her youngest son's debut, Diana opted for a bright red ensemble complete with matching tie.

If there were any bets placed on brands Kate would wear, we doubt anyone put down money on a non-British label. Everyone knows when it comes to important occasions—like today—there was a very short list of possible designers. So better luck next time Alexander McQueen, Erdem, Emilia Wickstead, Reiss and Hobbs. We're sure she'll be making it up to you real soon. We may even see the young princess in those labels in the near future.
