Kelly Ripa has more than another Daytime Emmy Award to celebrate today.

I can exclusively reveal that the morning talk show host will be honored with the Excellence in Media Award at the upcoming GLAAD Media Awards in New York City.

Her good friend Anderson Cooper has signed on to present the award.

"For over a decade, Kelly Ripa has greeted millions of viewers with messages of acceptance and inclusion," GLAAD president Sarah Kate Ellis said in a statement. "By sharing inclusive stories with her audience and loudly voicing support for her LGBT friends and fans, Kelly is helping to drive acceptance forward."

Past Excellence in Media Award honorees include Diane Sawyer, Tyra Banks, Julianne Moore, Glenn Close, Barbara Walters, Judy Shepard and Russell Simmons.

The Media Awards will be held May 9 at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC. MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts will receive this year's Vito Russo Award. Ross Mathews will host the gala, which will include guests Laverne Cox, Transparent star Jeffrey Tambor, Jonathan Groff and Rupert Friend of Homeland.

GLAAD's annual Hollywood gala last month honored Kerry Washington and openly gay director Roland Emmerich.
