You Can Now Sleep in the Old Bedroom of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love

It's as easy as renting an apartment.

HBO's Kurt Cobain documentary Montage of Heck hits theaters this week, and society seems to be on a slight Nirvana overload. Fans of the late musician will get an inside look at Cobain's life during the flick, but now it seems they'll have the chance to actually experience the world a la Cobain.

Vulture just discovered that the former apartment of Cobain and wife Courtney Love is available to rent on AirBnB. The former couple resided in the West Hollywood abode (on Spaulding Avenue in the Fairfax District, for any of you intent on checking it out) from 1991 to 1992, during the period of Nirvana's greatest fame and while Love was pregnant with their daughter Frances Bean Cobain

According to an L.A.Times article, the apartment was also the site of the rocker's heaviest cocaine use. Love and Cobain basically destroyed the place, doing things like painting all over the walls (and the ornate fireplace!) and generally living in total squalor. You can check out photographic evidence of said squalor here, but rest assured that the current owner keeps the place quite clean and tidy.

The apartment runs for $290 a night and features what appears to be a brand-new kitchen and an adorable little front yard (we shudder to think what that looked like during the Cobain years). Plus, there's the invaluable rock history—after all, Kurt wrote "Heart-Shaped Box" in this apartment's very bathtub!

Perhaps the best part of all of this is that the house's current owner had no idea about its history when he signed the papers. As he told Vulture, Kurt and Courtney's residence wasn't revealed until after the deal went through. How's that for a surprise?
