Hayden Panettiere's mind was elsewhere Wednesday morning.
"I've never had this happen before. It's been a little bit of a roller coaster day already," the Nashville actress said on Live! With Kelly and Michael. "We just showed up at The Chew...We went to the wrong show! We're sitting and we're passing all the cakes...and everyone's looking at us like, 'What is she doing here?' We were watching the show backstage and then we realized we were not in the right place!"
Kelly Ripa laughed, saying, "You're here now and that's all that matters!"
The host then pointed out that Panettiere's waist is looking trim after giving birth four months ago, but the new mom couldn't accept the compliment. "Oh, no! It's all about the undergarments!" Hayden said.
When Michael Strahan asked Hayden how life is different since Kaya Klitschko was born, the TV star replied, "How's it not? You kind of lose yourself in the most out of body way, but also the best way."
"It's just such a great experience being a mom," she added.
Hayden's fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, will face Bryan Jennings during Saturday's World Heavyweight Championship at Madison Square Garden in New York City. "When you watched him before, and watching him now after you've had a baby, is it different?" Michael asked. Hayden replied, "It is. You have much more of a connection, you know? When you're with somebody, I feel like it's great when you have your own life, they have their own life, and you meet gracefully in between. But then the longer you know them, the more you're attached to them, and then something that bonds you is a child. When you have a child together, there's nothing that connects you like that forever—for better or for worse!"
Kelly told Hayden to "be honest" with her next answer, asking, "If he's in the ring and his opponent punches him, will you jump in the ring and jump on his back? Because I would think that would be your urge." The Heroes actress laughed and told Kelly and Michael, "It is my urge. But you know what? I've learned that none of my reactions can change what's going to happen in the ring...I have all the faith in the world in him, and in fact, I think being a father has made him even more aggressive and dangerous."
As Michael pointed out, Wladimir is "fighting for something, not for himself."
"If anything, he'll be fighting for his legacy and his child and his future children," he added. Hayden smiled in agreement, saying, "He's papa bear!"
