Olivia Wilde has successfully completed the first year of parenthood!

Yes, it's been 12 months since the actress and fiancé Jason Sudeikis welcomed their baby boy Otis into the world. And while the busy mom is hard at work promoting her new documentary Body Team 12 and The Ebola Orphan Project, Wilde still made time to throw a special bash for her son.

"Oh yes my Birth-Day! Labor day as my mother in-law calls it!" she explained to E! News at the Tribeca Film Festival while innocently expressing her love for Sudeikis' mom. "We had an awesome celebration and especially in the mist of bringing Body Team 12 to the festival, I felt even more fortunate to be able to celebrate with Otis and be able to allow him to have this happy, happy day."

She added, "I just feel so lucky and I am so overwhelmed with happiness."

Happy, but also understandably tired. In an Instagram posted Monday night, the 31-year-old showcased how hard she's been working while she posed on a giant stuffed animal.

"One year old birthday party semi-survivor," she captioned. Enough said, girl!

As many moms understand, having a child can influence your perspective on work and projects. It certainly was the case for Wilde who explores the devastating impacts of the Ebola virus in her latest documentary.

"As a mother, of course it is even more painful to imagine leaving my son as an orphan and it hits you harder in every way to witness the suffering of children," she explained to E! News. "I also emphasize with mothers now in a different way and I can't think of more of heroic story like this. My son Otis is an example of one of the fortunate ones and I am going to raise Otis with a sense of awareness and responsibility and he should know he got lucky. He won the life lottery!"

Before he becomes as passionate as mama, Otis has a few more things to do. He simply needs to get a tad bit older and speak loud and proud.

"He is working on it!" Wilde shared through laughter when asked about his first words. "He is really working on it!"
