Justin Bieber Behaves Himself at Mediation Session for Battery Lawsuit

21-year-old shows up for meeting in Miami a day after his Comedy Central roast premiered to much fanfare

Perhaps with the sounds of scathing barbs about hermaphroditism and being a "piece of s--t" still dancing in his head, Justin Bieber dusted himself off and got himself to mediation today.

Bieber, his legal team and relevant parties from the opposing side met Tuesday in Miami to discuss a lawsuit filed in June 2013 against the singer and one of his bodyguards by a photographer who claims Bieber sicced his security on him when he tried to snap a photo.

Sources tell E! News that everyone (i.e. Bieber) was on good behavior, today's mediation session coming just over a year after the "Boyfriend" artist gave his infamous "don't ask me about her" deposition in the same case.

So far, so good then when it comes to Bieber's vow to not be so, um, Biebery moving forward, now that he's 21 and has been duly roasted by a jury of his peers.

We're told that the mediation, which took place at a law firm with former judge David Gersten doing the mediating, lasted more than four hours but, "as of today, nothing was resolved."

The case is still set to go to trial in May and Bieber may be called as a witness, sources say.

Plaintiff Jeffrey Binion's lawsuit alleges that on June 5, 2013, he was attempting to photograph Bieber outside Miami's Hit Factory recording studio when the then-teenager motioned for his bodyguards to deal with him. Binion claims that Hugo Hesny, whom he also sued, and three other bodyguards shoved him against a wall and grabbed his throat, forcing him to give up the memory card in his camera.

Bieber was spotted boarding a plane, new puppy Esther in tow, after the mediation (where he may have snapped a tired-looking selfie).

Meanwhile, Comedy Central announced that the Bieber roast was its third-most watched, behind only Jeff Foxworthy's skewering in 2005 and the king of 'em all, the roast of Charlie Sheen in 2011. Roughly 4.4 million people tuned in to see Martha Stewart, Kevin Hart, Shaquille O'Neal and more go after Bieber during the initial 10 p.m. premiere.
