Is The Good Wife's new love triangle over before it even started? Yep! No? Maybe!

Let's be frank: The Good Wife's original love triangle between Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies), Will Gardner (Josh Charles) and Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) got a little…cumbersome. Robert and Michelle King, The Good Wife's co-creators and executive producers, have been vocal about being relieved it's no longer a factor on the show. But now Alicia finds herself attracted to both Finn Polmar (Matthew Goode) and Johnny Elfman (Steven Pasquale).

"We wanted to do something this year that avoided the love triangle aspect that are fun, but also become a trap for the series," Robert King told us.

Alicia locked lips with Johnny—and maybe more—and had sexual fantasizes about both of the men. Viewers saw Margulies' character gravitate toward Finn, only to find herself going after Johnny. But after—SPOILER ALERT!—Alicia won the State's Attorney election, Johnny bounced out of Chicago. He saw her with Peter and basically said, "Girl, bye." He had no time for that drama. Will he be back before the end of the season? That all depends on scheduling, a source told E! News.

As for Finn, the two played Halo together (remotely) while Alicia waited for the election results. When he suggested she go get dinner to take her mind off things, she invited him along. But he had plans! He's seeing somebody else! That look on his face when he realized his big mistake was basically the look of dread on your face too, right?

"In that vein, I think they set it up beautifully that it was supposed to be Finn, but if you really think about that character, he's so attached in her mind and heart to the Will Gardner character that there really is no way that could've happened. So out of nowhere comes Johnny Elfman," Margulies said.

The Good Wife airs Sundays, 9 p.m. on CBS.
