Oh. Em. Gee.

It was only a matter of time before Disney confirmed their plans for a Frozen sequel—and that day has finally come!

The studio took to Twitter earlier this morning to share the exciting news with the legions of Frozen fans out there.

"Forecast: Winter weather ahead! @DisneyAnimation developing #Frozen2 with Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee."

Variety was the first to report on the film announcement, but no release date or production details were announced at this time.

And while it's not exactly new news that the second installment of the mega-successful Disney flick is in production, we hadn't heard it officially until just now.

Kristen Bell immediately hopped on Twitter to rejoice in the movie news, cutely posing on a bag of ice and saying, "Dreams really do come 2!!!"

Walt Disney Animation Studios is also revisiting Arendelle in the Spring of this year with a short film dubbed Frozen Fever.

Buck and Lee have also teamed up for the project, in addition to producer Peter Del Vecho and songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, who won the Academy Award for "Let It Go."

According to the studio, Frozen Fever's plot is simple: "It's Anna's birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa's icy powers may put more than just the party at risk."

John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, released the following statement today:

"We enjoyed making Frozen Fever so much and being back in that world with those characters. Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we're taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that."

To date, Frozen has earned $1.27 billion worldwide and is the most successful animated film of all time.
