Talk about a fake follicle debacle!

Lena Dunham, creator and star of HBO's Girls, makes her Scandal debut in the March 19 outing, titled "It's Good to be Kink," and let's just say her wig may just steal the entire episode. How do we know this? Because Dunham posted a photo of her with star Kerry Washington from the set, which reveals her new "Kinky Sue" look. Yes, her character's name really is Kinky Sue. (Praise, Shonda Rhimes!)

"Finally at liberty to reveal this pic of me and on the #scandalset as 'Kinky Sue' with my true [heart] @kerrywashington," she captioned the cute pic.

And we thought Hannah Horvath's spur-of-the-moment decision to give herself bangs on Girls was the worst of it. Little did we know, little did we know...

Also worth noting? Dunham rocked a similar-yet-vastly-better wig when she lovingly parodied Scandal on Saturday Night Live, which you can watch below.

Insane wig or not, guest-starring on Scandal has been a career dream for Dunham. "Basically, my life's great passion is the idea of being a guest star on Scandal," she said during an interview with Grantland's B.S. Report. "I want to be, like, a senator who did something wrong." And while she did say she might be too young to play a senator, she said, "playing a really evil character, it would be really fun."

Dunham is far from the first person to rock a questionable wig on TV, but they're not all bad! Check out our gallery of the best and worst wigs to recently grace the small screen...with a few other Scandal coifs making the list!

Scandal airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
