Jordin Sparks fans, rejoice: The 25-year-old singer has dropped a new single!

On Tuesday, the American Idol winner released her latest song "Double Tap" featuring 2 Chainz, and just hours after the super-catchy tune debuted on iTunes the brunette stunner stopped by the E! News studio to chat about her forthcoming album, Right Here, Right Now. She shared how her past (and very public breakup) with ex Jason Derulo influenced her studio sessions and even revealed whether she would ever want to appear on The Bachelorette

"The song 'Double Tap' is definitely inspired by Instagram and the times right now," she shared. "So you double tap to 'like' a picture, so there are a couple of ways you could take it. For me, in the song, I take it as a girl knowing that there's a guy looking at her pictures, but he won't like them because he doesn't want her to know. And she's like 'I bet you're not going to double tap that picture.'"

She added with a smile, "So it's all about that, 'Oh well, you know I'm cute kind of thing.'"

As for why she decided to feature 2 Chainz on the song? "Because he's just crazy enough to do it," she shared. "His flow and everything. He was the only person I could think of."

Sparks' forthcoming album is due out in mid-May and during her chat with E! News (be sure to tune in tonight for lots of scoop!), she shared that there are "a couple" of songs about ex Jason Derulo, from whom she split in September after about three years of dating.

Asked how her public breakup influenced the recording process, she candidly replied, "Everybody...takes experiences from their personal life and puts it in there because that's how you get the emotion...that's how that one fan that is laying in her room puts on your record and she cries with you because she feels it with you...I've always drawn from personal experiences to sing songs."

She continued, noting that she has a new perspective on heartbreak, which will be reflected in her music, now that she is older.

"When I was 17 and I put out my first record, I had never been in love like that before. So doing a song like "No Air," I had to imagine what it would feel like to lose somebody that I loved that much...now, I know what it feels like to feel like I can't get out of bed in the morning because it hurts so bad or feel like I can't breathe, but I also know the other side. Like, I know what those butterflies feel like...so I think it's pretty natural to take personal experiences and put them into your music."

Sparks, who was sweet as can be, also gushed over her fans, calling them "so great and so patient and supportive" in addition to revealing a few album surprises—press play for tons more scoop!
