Look into these eyes...

Baby blues are arguably the most desired eye color in the world, with countless songs and stories celebrating the feature.

Stars with said eyes like Julianne Hough, Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift are definitely a commodity. They have certainly inspired our makeup decisions with the way they play up their peepers.

We don't think that the celebs should have all of the fun though, which is why we want to give you a few tips on how to make your blues shine bright.

First things first, when talking about popping hues, look no further than the color wheel. When two shades are on the opposite sides of the chart, they are called contrasting or complementary.

So if blue is your focus, orange is your counterpoint. Swiping on orange-based shades, including bronze, terracotta, rust, peach or coral, can really emphasize your eye color.

Using blue eyeshadow can leave your eyes lost in a deep blue sea, but there are other ways to fulfill your cobalt cravings. Try lining the eyes with shadows or liners in super-dark shades of navy or even purples. These colors will still help reflect more blue from your eyes without overwhelming.

Neutrals and browns are also awesome choices because they both can hold a lot of contrasting tones like orange, gold and yellow. You can also try using browns for your smokey eyes, liners and mascaras because they're more complementary and less harsh than black.

TIPS: Get the perfect eyebrows for your face shape

Besides color theory, eyeliner can also help draw attention to your peepers. When in doubt, wing it out—feisty cat-eyes are not only on-trend, but they really help to achieve notice-me-eyes. You can also or try a beige liner on the bottom waterline.

Some people say that your eye color can define a look, but we say that your personality can help define your eye color. Use any of these tips and tricks in a way that works for your style and your blues will pop.
