Coming in between 'Frary' is a little scary.

Just ask Sean Teale, Reign's new royal, whose Prince Condé was introduced in the season two premiere and has slowly developed a very real and very serious connection with Mary (Adelaide Kane), much to the chagrin of fans of her relationship with Francis (Toby Regbo). Being the third-point in a heated love triangle is never easy, especially when you are already behind when you begin the race. But Teale wasn't too concerned with potentially angering a passionate fanbase when he joined the CW drama.

"I mean, we all joke on set. We joke about a lot of things, but you know, messing with 'Frary,' and the dangers that come with it, but I think at the same time, I'm willing to take that mantle," he tells E! Online. "I don't know how enjoyable the show would be if they were in love and happy the entire time. There's no drama. I'm willing to take that mantle, even though that does mean I'm in the firing line...But 'Frary' is a thing, let's say that!"

And Teale will likely be front and center on the social media firing line during the next several episodes, which will focus on the brewing tension between Mary, Condé and Francis, both romantically and politically, thanks to Condé's brother King Antoine's (Ben Aldridge) arrival at court (more on that in a minute!) and the "accusations" and power plays that immediately follow.

"Mary has to confront her feelings, whether she truly wants to or not, not that Condé puts her in that position," Teale previews. "But also, Mary starts to learn about her nation of Scotland the threats to her crown and she has to make some pretty interesting decisions that relate to the people around her because of that and the allegiances that they hold."

While Condé won't put Mary in the position to finally face her feelings, dangerous "accusations flying" around Court about Condé will, with Teale teasing, "These accusations involve Mary's views on Condé. And whether she really believes he's capable of doing what he's accused of doing."

But Mary isn't the only lady in Condé's life at the moment.

In last week's episode, Mary asked Lola (Anna Popplewell), her best friend/lady-in-waiting and Francis' baby mama, to pair up with Condé as a political move. Anything for the crown, right?

"He understands at the end of the day. Lola also understands her duty." Teale explains. "He's disregarded every risk to his life to aid the people that he cares about. He will pursue the connection with Lola because that's what he's been told to do."

But will real feelings develop? "He's interested in Lola naturally, she's beautiful. She intrigues him."

And amid all the romance drama Condé is dealing with, his brother's arrival at court, and plans for revenge against France, will only make his "life infinitely harder."

Expect to see "a battle of the bloodlines," Teale teases, as well as a "more sarcastic," but "darker side" of Condé.

Reign airs tonight at 9 p.m. on the CW.
