They broke up for fewer than five months, but the distance definitely did them some good!

Ansel Elgort and his on-again girlfriend Violetta Komyshan were packing on the PDA at JFK airport in New York yesterday after returning from Milan Fashion Week, and an eyewitness tells E! News that the two were reluctant to separate! The Fault in Our Stars actor had to say goodbye to his high school sweetheart, but the source tells us "he didn't want to show off too much PDA," so they just snuck a quick kiss.

Don't worry, they got in a long hug before eventually parting ways. Ansel unfortunately had to catch a flight to Sundance while Violetta stayed in New York.

"The two looked happy and appeared as if they never split," the eyewitness tells us. "It was apparent they did not want to leave each other."

So cute!

A source confirmed to E! News that the pair had reconciled after they were spotted together at Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. Us Weekly was the first to confirm the news when a source told the mag, "They just missed each other. He didn't really see anyone else seriously while they were split."

Some believed the 20-year-old's busy acting schedule including Divergent contributed to the August breakup, but whatever it was, love proved to be enough! Plus, he never seemed like the type to wander. He previously told GQ that he doesn't let his newfound level of fame get in the way.

"I don't really care that some trashy girl, like, now all of the sudden wants to f--k me," he said. "That's not really that interesting to me."

Instead, Ansel said he was getting used to experiencing a new level of creativity that he didn't have before launching to stardom.

"What's interesting to me is the fact that creatively I can do anything now and people will pay attention, and if I suck, hopefully they will stop paying attention very quickly, but if I'm good, then I have my foot in the door, and people have paid attention, and I did a good job, and people are like, 'Oh, wow!' That's sweet!"
