We Accidently Made People Believe E! Called Lena Dunham Liza Minnelli

We made a gallery of fake E! Golden Globes bloopers. Other people decided it was real. The internet did the rest.

The other night, during their Golden Globes Red Carpet coverage, our friends at E! made the tiniest of errors when they accidently labeled actress Shelby Steele as actress fellow red-headed actress Sophie Turner aka Sansa Stark from Game of Thrones.

The internet went nutz for it. Why? Because they're the internet and they love mistakes. It's the same reason I put a "z" at the end of "nuts" two sentences back.

Honestly, as mistakes go this could have been worse. The only problem is 1) It was on TV and 2) we saw it. That being the case we thought it prudent to take a good natured swipe at E! the next day with a gallery of photoshopped red carpet screen caps entitled...

Sorry We F'd Up So Many Names At The Golden Globes

Among the gleaming chucks of genius in that gallery was this gem featuring stage and screen actor Andrew Rannells and Lena Dunham from that show about girls on HBO. I forget what it's called.

Right?! Because...Why not?
However, at some point the following day, someone found this image and passed it on, and then someone else passed it on, and someone else, and someone else, and the internet did its job. It did its job so well in fact that our joyful little photoshopped screen cap made its way to Andrew Rannells himself.

As well as to Liza Minnelli.

Both disseminated it to an exponentially more effective degree than we ever could have.

It was at this point that people decided this was, in fact, real. That's when the articles came, starting with media giant GayStarNews.

And culminating where most things do now; The Huffington Post.

Delightful!

Our only regret? That this one didn't get more attention.

It was arguably the best.

Let's do this again at the Oscars, shall we?
