Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy were spotted grocery shopping on Sunday in Brentwood, Calif., where the former couple, who announced the end of their engagement in early December, was photographed all smiles as they strolled side by side with their carts filled to the brim.
Having recently returned from Aspen for their annual family Christmas vacation, the 35-year-old Almost Famous beauty sported a trendy blanket coat and kept her look casual with minimal makeup, wearing her blond hair down in loose style. Bellamy, meanwhile, was also dressed down for the outing, wearing a zip-up hoodie and tennis shoes.
According to an eyewitness, the two came and left together and remained inside the store for about 20 minutes. "Kate was seen laughing at what Matt was saying" as they exited the supermarket together, a source tells E! News.
The insider notes that the two appeared friendly as ever and still seemingly enjoy spending time together.
"The two were is good spirits and looked as if they remain close despite the breakup," the source said, adding, "They both looked very relaxed, Kate looked really happy."
Despite their split after four years together, it should come as no surprise that the exes were in good spirits as the parents of Bingham Bellamy (Kate is also mom to 10-year-old Ryder Robinson from her first marriage to Chris Robinson) have proven time and time again that they will continue to put their children first.
"We're both very happy," Bellamy tweeted to fans after the breakup. "It's for the best. Thanks for your kind words."
"Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now," the 36-year-old Muse frontman's rep told E! News. "Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents."
The two most recently traveled to Aspen, Colo., where they enjoyed a snowy holiday with their children as well as Hudson's parents, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. The blond beauty was not wearing her engagement ring when she was photographed on a coffee run with the musician.
"They seemed very cordial," an eyewitness told E! News of the pair. "Friends are with them. Kate's brother is there, too. Overall, it looks very friendly and not romantic."
