Let's hope this isn't a foreshadow of anything ugly to come.

In Chris Rock's divorce filing with the Superior Court of New Jersey, which was obtained by E! News, the actor and comedian claims that his soon-to-be ex-wife Malaak Compton-Rock has kept his daughters—Lola, 12, and Zahra, 10—away from him.

"[Rock] is now and always has been a fully involved and participating parent in all aspects of the lives of these children and it is in their best interests for the parties to have joint custody and to equally share residential custody," the court documents state.

"Notwithstanding that the parties have been separated, [Compton-Rock] has repeatedly refused to permit [Rock] normal and usual access to the children, and has acted in a manner detrimental to the children's best interests. [Rock]'s conduct as aforesaid will be further disclosed by continuing discovery and is directly contrary to the best interests of the children."

Compton-Rock has yet to respond to the filing, but expresses her "disappointment" with the claims through a statement from her lawyers to E! News.

"Malaak is saddened and disappointed that Chris has accused her of keeping their children from him, which he knows is untrue and can be so easily disproved," her attorney David Aronson said in the statement.

"We all know Chris leads a very busy public life while Malaak and their children definitely do not. She hopes the privacy of their children is still as important to Chris as it is to her and that it will be respected. They will always be the main focus of her life."

Rock has asked for joint and equal physical and legal custody of his daughters.

News of the celeb ending his 19-year marriage came yesterday, although the documents reveal the pair have been separated for at least six months.

"Chris Rock has filed for divorce from his wife, Malaak," the actor's rep told E! News Monday. "This is a personal matter and Chris requests privacy as he and Malaak work through this process and focus on their family."
