We did find it a little random just how unabashed Jay Leno was in remembering an appearance by Trista Sutter as being one of his least interesting Tonight Show interviews ever.

And so did Trista!

"After 10 yrs, ironic that I'm the topic of convo on @CraigyFerg last show. Thx 4 the shoutout @jayleno! Next time, plz mention my book. ;)," the reality-TV star (and author of Happily Ever After: The Life-Changing Power of a Grateful Heart) tweeted on Saturday after Leno dissed her during his appearance on the final episode of The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson.

So, what did Leno say about the former Bachelorette? Let's just say, Sutter was on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno in 2003 and, while she herself may not have been memorable for Jay, the experience of meeting her was unforgettable.

As his final guest after 10 years helming the post-Late Show time slot, Ferguson was picking Leno's brain about his two decades-plus as host of The Tonight Show and wanted to know if he ever "glassed over" during an interview.

"Huh?" Leno cracked, before launching into his "classic example." (Who knew it was so classic?!)

"I had one of these reality stars on—...Trista!'" Leno went all verbal fry on her name. "From one of these Bachelorette, or whatever it was...so I'm sitting there and she's like here and I'm talking to her like this, and I'm looking at the side of her head because I tend to look [there]. So we're talking about—I couldn't be less interested. I'd never seen the stupid reality show, didn't know what it was."

To be fair, Leno had been making cracks about how out of touch he felt when it came to interviewing younger guests, but he also expressed frustration over part of his job being to interview people who were famous for...er, varying reasons.

"So I said," he continued, '"Well thank you, and good talking to you, see you, great, good night everybody!' I go out in the parking lot, there's this woman standing next to me with her boyfriend. She goes, 'Hey, can I have a picture?' I said, "Sure, how're you doing?' She goes, 'Good.' 'So what's your name?' She goes, 'What?' 'What's your name?'

'Trista,'" Leno remembers her having to tell him her name after he just spent five minutes talking to her.

So, with that in mind, we think Sutter's reaction was pretty classy.
