Typically, stylish mothers often find their daughters stealing clothing out of their closets, but earlier this week, Nicole Richie opted to turn the tables.

The 33-year-old star, who is famous for her pin thin frame, hosted the fourth annual Baby 2 Baby holiday party in Los Angeles on Saturday where she was photographed sporting a cozy pink jacket—the fashion credits for which she later posted on her Instagram.

And no, we don't mean the designer of the super-cute coat, we're referring to its actual owner: Richie's 6-year-old daughter Harlow

Thanks for letting me borrow your jacket Harlow ??

"Thanks for letting me borrow your jacket Harlow," Joel Madden's missus captioned a smiley selfie on the photo-sharing site.

The coat in question appears to be from child's boutique Dani Boy and is styled as a long jacket on the company's Instagram page.

Of course, Nicole (and all of her 5'1" frame) added her own signature flair to the ensemble, teaming the coat with a white tee and black pants.

The fashion designer isn't the first celeb who has made headlines for posing in children's clothing. Bethenny Frankel previously found herself on the receiving end of criticism after she posted a photo of herself wearing her four-year-old daughter Bryn's pajamas

This is my daughter's nightgown and PJ shorts. Think we're ready to start sharing clothes yet?

"BREAKING NEWS! World Scandal: Former reality star, failed talk show host & cocktail maven jokes by wearing her kids' pjs! #itcantbetrue," the Real Housewives of New York star wrote on Twitter in response to the backlash.

"When ur 4 year old peanut says "mommy please put my dress on" & giggles uncontrollably, u do what ur told," she added.

The Skinnygirl entrepreneur, who is still going through a dramatic divorce with ex Jason Hoppy, was even ordered by a Manhattan Supreme Court judge to put a stop to the pint-size fashion show.

"No more pajamas!" Frankel's attorney Allan Mayefsky was warned in court. "It's not a joke. Her child is not a joke."
