In true 90210 fashion, Bella Hadid's mom was vacationing on a yacht with co-star Kyle Richards' family when she got a frightening call from her husband, David Foster.
"The minute I answered [the phone]…my heart just sunk in my shoes," Yolanda said on Tuesday's episode. "I knew something was wrong."
Her intuition was right on. Bella was arrested on Pacific Coast Highway near Los Angeles for drinking and driving.
"This reckless choice was so shocking and disappointing to me," Foster explained in her Bravo TV blog posted Wednesday morning after the episode aired. "I raised her as a single mom most of her life, so immediately I started to take it personally, blaming myself and doubting my parenting skills."
Yolanda admitted to crying her entire flight home from Spain to Los Angeles. The mistake was even more emotional partly because the Bravolebrity lost her father to a car accident when she was just 7 years old.
In addition to the court suspending Bella's license for one year and giving her six months' probation, the up-and-coming model also had to face the consequences at home.
"I decided to take her phone away, make her pay for her own lawyer bills from her savings, and we sold her car," Yolanda revealed. "Life taught her that sometimes good people make bad choices but that it doesn't mean they are bad people…it means they are human."
Since the DUI arrest, Hadid has stayed out of trouble and has started following in her older sister's footsteps.
As Gigi Hadid continues to conquer the world of fashion, Bella is earning a spot as well with a recent cover shoot for Jalouse magazine.
"The reality is that it was a very painful experience and a lesson learned for our family," Yolanda concluded. "The truth is that none of us are perfect . Sharing this personal parenting story with you is a very sensitive subject, but I felt it was important for you to hear it from me."
