Bet you didn't expect to be singing Christmas carols with a Lord of the Rings star this holiday season!

At 92 years young, Christopher Lee has decided to rock out with a brand-new single titled "Darkest Carols, Faithful Sing."

The heavy metal tune is described as a playful rendition of the holiday classic "Hark! The Heralds Angels Sing."

"It's light-hearted, joyful and fun," Lee shared with reporters. "It's a band singing on how metal should be played, the effect it has on the band and its listeners."

What makes this even more unique is the fact that Lee can now call himself the oldest heavy metal artist ever.

"At my age, the most important thing for me is to keep active by doing things that I truly enjoy," he explained. "I do not know how long I am going to be around, so every day is a celebration and I want to share it with my fans."

This isn't the first time Lee has stepped away from the big screen to record a musical number.

When not starring in the Star Wars prequels, Dracula or The Wicker Man, the actor made time to record "Jingle Hell" last Christmas.

And before you make a snarky comment, it reached No. 18 on the Billboard charts. Rock on, Christopher!

"Darkest Carols, Faithful Sing" is available now on iTunes and other music outlets.
