Longtime loves are devoted to each other (and another "very important" family member) but they're not necessarily sold on the idea of getting married

Merry Christmas from Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson!

The adorable couple got into the holiday spirit a little early when they posed for their Christmas card selfie last week. Diane Instagrammed the photo of the pair wearing matching Santa hats with tinsel wrapped around their necks, but by her own (hashtag) admission, they were "missing only one very important family member."

And just who might that be?! Joshua and Diane's beloved cat, Hobbes! She Instagrams pictures of her little fur baby on the reg and even brought him along to a FLARE photo shoot last year.

Clearly, Diane, 38, makes one loving cat mama, but do she and her longtime love, 36, have plans to become the parents of human kids someday? That depends. The Inglourious Basterds star opened up about the possibility of expanding her brood in an interview with London's The Times earlier this year, saying, "I didn't think I wanted kids until a couple of years ago...Now I hope it is for me, but who knows. By the time I really try, maybe it won't happen."

She also joked about the constant rumors she and Joshua are planning to marry. "I feel like I've gotten engaged 10 times over the past year," she said. "I'm not so into marriage, I don't have the dream of the white dress...I do believe in the commitment and the romance and the idea that there is one person for you."

Joshua has a similar pro-love stance that doesn't necessarily call for a trip down the aisle. As he told Glamour magazine earlier this year, "I can tell you why we're not married: We're not religious."

"I don't feel any more or less committed to Diane for not having stood in front of a priest and had a giant party," he went on. "We're both children of divorce, so it's hard for me to take marriage at face value as the thing that shows you've grown up and are committed to another person. But it may change at some point. We may get married."

Well, if and when that ever happens, Hobbes the cat better be included in those celebrations!
