Buckle up, Mahomies: This is pretty cute!
Austin Mahone is finally opening up about long-rumored girlfriend Camila Cabello, gushing to Teen Vogue's December/January issue, "She's an amazing girl, and we have the best time together."
"I wasn't looking for a relationship," says the 18-year-old singer, "but we became really good friends when we were on tour."
Camila, 17, and her Fifth Harmony bandmates joined Austin on tour this summer, along with Shawn Mendes and The Vamps. While still on the road, Austin old Fuse TV he loved hanging out with Camila and her crew, saying, "They're talented...and they're beautiful."
As he tells Teen Vogue, too, it's important to him to surround himself with positive people. "It's all about the team you hang out with," he said. "My friends, they're all cool, they're all clean. I don't want to be that guy who is having problems and going to rehab. I am focused on the music."
Not everyone recognizes that Austin doesn't behave like some of his fellow, um, more destructive pop stars. In fact, he says, his application to live in a Miami-area home was recently rejected for just this reason. "We had letters of recommendation from my condo and other people," he says. "I'm not the type of guy who's going to destroy your house."
He got a different place, though—so it all worked out. "But now that I'm here, I'm like, Man, this house is way cooler," he says. "Everything happens for a reason."
