James Spader's voice in The Avengers: Age of Ultron is even more chilling than you imagined.

A new, extended trailer for the anticipated sequel to Marvel's hit 2012 superhero ensemble film was released on Wednesday and features about 20 seconds of bonus footage, including a longer voice-over from the villain Ultron, portrayed by the velvet-voiced actor, a newcomer to the hit franchise.

"I know you mean well," Ultron is heard saying, calmly, to the Avengers, who are seen looking horrified at the interruption to their private party. "You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change."

"There's only one path to peace: Your extinction," he says, unleashing his drones. "I'm going to show you something beautiful. The whole world screaming for mercy. Everyone tangled in strings."

The extended trailer also features more action, including a scene showing Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) flying and battling what may be Hydra soldiers in what appears to be a fortress on a snowy mountain; innocent civilians running amid chaos and destruction; extra shots of fellow returning superheroes Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo); and a clear image of Korean star Claudia Kim, also known as Kim Soo Hyun, who plays a doctor. She was seen at a glimpse in previously released footage, spurring fans to speculate about the identity of the "mystery woman."

This new extended trailer and one released in October show a scene in which Scarlett Johansson's character looks at an image of Loki's scepter on a Samsung tablet.

Idris Elba had signaled in a recent interview that he and Tom Hiddleston are reprising their Thor roles as Thor's ally Heimdall and the Norse god's evil brother Loki in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Director Joss Whedon told Vulture, when asked about the spoiler, that should Elba "receive an email from me, there might be an attitude of scold."

The Avengers: Age of Ultron also stars returning actors Chris Evans as Captain America, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

In addition to Spader, newcomers include the likes of Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Scarlet Witch, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who stars as Quicksilver.

The previous Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer also contained a scene of the Avengers' party, showing them trying to lift Thor's hammer.

The new movie was filmed earlier this year in various locations in South Korea, England, Italy, Bangladesh and South Africa. The Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release on May 1, 2015.

A third, two-part Avengers film is also in the works.
