Robert Plant has reportedly turned down more than $800 million to reunite with Led Zeppelin on a worldwide tour.
According to The Mirror, the lead singer ripped up a contract to reunite the surviving members of the band for just 35 shows in three cities: Berlin, London and an unspecified location in New Jersey.
Virgin CEO Richard Branson is said to be behind the whole deal, and allegedly was ready to offer up one of his company's planes and specially dub it "The Starship" just for the band.
The contact had an extension option to add 45 more shows in additional venues if the band members signed on the dotted line, however, it looks like seeing Zeppelin in concert won't be a reality any time soon.
The paper is reporting that the other two surviving original members of the legendary group, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, jumped at the idea of a reunion tour and signed the contract immediately.
Jason Bonham, the son of the late drummer John Bonham, was said to be ready to step in for his father.
The staggering contract would've had Page, Jones and Plant earning roughly $200 million each for their performances, and splitting over $100 million in merchandise profits.
But Plant's rep slams the reunion tour reports, and told The Guardian that the Mirror's story was "rubbish."
Meanwhile, Plant is currently on tour with another band, the Sensational Shape Shifters, for his latest solo album Lullaby and…the Ceaseless Roar.
Back in 2007, the singer told London's Sunday Times that he wasn't completely opposed to performing with the band again—in a matter of words.
"The whole idea of being on a cavalcade of merciless repetition is not what it's all about," he shared before adding, "It wouldn't be such a bad idea to play together from time to time."
