AKM-GSITaylor Swift fans are like no other.
A hiccup in the Canadian version of iTunes caused a snippet of the singer's song titled "Track 3" to leak online yesterday, and unsurprisingly it shot to the top of the charts.
What is surprising is that the song—which cost $1.29—was actually only eight seconds of static noise.
Swift's eight seconds of silence beat out her other three singles off of her upcoming album, 1989, for the No. 1 spot.
"Welcome to New York," "Shake It Off," and "Out of the Woods" landed in the second, third and eighth spots, respectively.
If that's not proof enough that fans are seriously eager to get their hands on any and all things T.Swift, then we don't know what is!
Just a few short days ago, the 24-year-old pop star opened up about her inspiration behind her Big Apple anthem in an interview with Good Morning America.
"I wanted to start the album with this song because New York has been an important landscape and location for the story of my life in the last couple of years," she shared.
"I dreamt about moving to New York. I obsessed about moving to New York and then I did it. The inspiration that I found in that city is kind of hard to describe and hard to compare to any other force of inspiration I've ever experienced in my life."
She continued, "I approached moving there with such wide-eyed optimism and sort of saw it as a place of endless potential and possibilities. You can kind of hear that reflected in this music and this first song especially."
1989 is slated for an Oct. 27 release date, which means there are only a few more days before fans get to hear what "Track 3" really sounds like!
