The world is officially back to watching Amanda Bynes' every move.

Following the news that the 28-year-old troubled starlet was arrested for DUI in Los Angeles earlier this week with officials saying that she "may have been under the influence of a stimulant," the former child actress was spotted at LAX airport dining at Gladstone's restaurant in the terminal before jetting off on a flight to NYC, where she was photographed touching down this morning.

According to an eyewitness, Bynes, who had been seemingly making a healthy rebound prior to her latest legal woe, came into the eatery by herself around 11 p.m.

"She sat down at a booth, which is normally reserved for groups," the source said. "They let her stay at the booth because she was Amanda Bynes and they knew her history. She asked for extra napkins before she even placed an order."

The Easy A star, who was detained on a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold and underwent a nearly six-month rehab stint last summer, was also exhibiting strange behavior, according to the eyewitness. "Amanda was at the table by herself with all her makeup spread out across the table. She was talking to herself and putting on a ton of makeup. She would apply some, look in her compact and make weird pouty faces and they say to herself, 'Ok, that looks fine,'" the source continued.

But while her speech seemed to suggest that she was sober, her body language was far more perplexing, per the eyewitness. "She was very coherent in the way she spoke to the staff," the source said. "Amanda said she was heading home to New York because she had an apartment there. She didn't seem like she was on drugs or anything, because she talked very normal. But her mannerisms told a different story. She was really fidgety and really sloppy in the way she ate her food."

"She was only there for 20 minutes," the eyewitness added, noting that Amanda ordered "a Shirley Temple and coconut shrimp." "When she got up to leave, she practically bolted out of there. She had a really weird gait to her, she was power walking with posture like a pregnant woman. It was bizarre."

Bynes is certainly no stranger to making headlines for her erratic behavior. Not only is this week's arrest her second DUI bust in 29 months, but she was also booked on charges of reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence and criminal possession of marijuana after she allegedly threw a bong out of the window of her high-rise NYC apartment in May 2013 (the case was dismissed in late June after the thesp successfully complied with a judge's orders to stay out of trouble and attend six months of counseling). Add those incidents to the ever-growing lists of driving-related arrests as well as her past bizarre Twitter outbursts and it's easy to see why many are concerned for the aspiring fashion designer.

Earlier this week, a source close to the actress' family exclusively told E! News that Bynes' parents truly thought their daughter was doing well prior to her umpteenth run-in with the law. "They truly believed Amanda was doing well based on the first and second semesters' grades, which were stellar," the source said.

Bynes had completed her first year at the Irvine, Calif., location of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and was living closer to campus, although her estate was still being overseen by her parents, Rick and Lynn, in a conservatorship. The conservatorship ended on Sept. 10, and according to our insider, that's when the initial signs of trouble first began.

"The first signs of problems came days after the conservatorship ended," the source said, adding that Rick and Lynn were never informed of any of the reported problems that Amanda might have been having at school.

Currently, "her parents are keeping close tabs on her through various people," the insider noted. "They are monitoring her whereabouts, her spending and her driving as best as they can. Essentially she was able to mask her poor grades and downward spiral from them. They wanted to believe she was being honest and getting better."

Wishing Amanda all the best.
