The newly single pop princess recently broke up with her boyfriend of about 18 months David Lucado after he was apparently caught on tape making out with another woman.
"Well, by now everyone knows my boyfriend cheated on me," Spears said during her Las Vegas show shortly after the split. "But the best part of breaking up is going on first dates."
She added, "OMG, OMG, I need a hot guy. Where are the hot guys here tonight?"
So what's Brit's idea of a perfect first date?
"The perfect first date is going to the beach and having a picnic and going home and watching a really cool movie and then a great first kiss," she told me exclusively today at the launch of her Intimate Britney Spears lingerie line at the New York Public Library.
So sweet, don't ya think?
In much steamier news, the lingerie launch today included a presentation on stage of about a dozen looks from the collection, which ranged from innocent looking silk pajamas to much friskier barely there thongs and bras.
"I feel very empowered," Spears said of wearing the line. "I feel sensual and I feel sexy. And it's for all different types of sizes, for big women or small women. There's a variety."
The collection has been in the making for about two years, but Spears has been thinking about it for over a decade after a visit to a lingerie boutique in London. "It's something I'm very passionate about," Spears said. "The colors are very neutral and natural and feminine and very cool."
What else did I learn from talking to Britney?
She wants to do more movies, her next album will come out in a year or two ("I'm taking it very slow," she said) and she wants work with Katy Perry again.
The two had a small collaboration when Perry provided some secret background tracks on "Ooh La La," Spears' song on the Smurfs 2 soundtrack.
"I think she's just electric," Spears said of the "Firework" singer. "Her hair is always a different color. She's so flamboyant. I love that energy. I think it's contagious."
Spears jetted back to her residency in Las Vegas after the Intimate event. She also has some planning to do because her sons' birthdays are coming up on Sept. 12—Sean turns 9 and Jayden will be 8. "
"They're great," she said of her boys. "We're doing a huge skateboarding party."
