At long last, Leighton Meester's debut album has a release date!

After releasing "Somebody to Love" with Robin Thicke in 2009 and "Your Love's a Drug" in 2011, the Gossip Girl star, 28, parted ways with Universal Music and signed new record deal with Hotly Wanting. On Tuesday, she released the first single, "Heartstrings," from her upcoming album of the same name.

"'Heartstrings' speaks to vibe and encompasses a lot of the themes of the rest of the album," Meester tells Billboard of the folksy song. "It's been a long time coming and I'm very excited to finally release it."

Meester began performing "Heartstrings" in 2012 with Check in the Dark.

The other eight songs featured on Meester's EP include "Run Away," "Good for One Thing," "Sweet," "On My Side," "L.A.," "Dreaming," "Blue Afternoon" and "Entitled." It's available for pre-order on iTunes.

Heartstrings, written by Meester and produced by Jeff Trot, drops Oct. 28.
