Our new favorite show is over for the summer and we are very sad about it

It's over! Sadface!

To be completely honest with you, we weren't all that sure about this show when we first heard about it. It kind of sounded like Bachelor Pad with just more sand, but it turned out to be a beautiful, funny exploration of what happens when a bunch of young and attractive people are forced to fall in love on a beach.

Tonight, season one ended with both tears and hickeys, and we will admit that we did a bit of crying of our own after becoming strangely attached to these beautiful, bikini-clad strangers and their brief yet passionate-ish love affairs.

Only two couples were left standing at the end of tonight's finale, so let's find out who survived!

After being asked by the king of all that is love, Chris Harrison, to take a look at their relationships, Tasos and Christie broke it off pretty quickly on good terms. Jackie and Zack also parted, but didn't seem too broken up about it.

Things were also not going well in Graham and AshLee's Sprinkle-Covered Dreamland. Michelle helped Graham finally realize that he and AshLee were not so solid after all (which makes sense, since she came onto the show intending to be with him and might have legitimately murdered anyone else with any interest in him). He broke up with her, saying that he felt like she wasn't there for the right reasons. Her reaction was actually very non-AshLee: she just cried and headed home, and he followed shortly after.

We thought that Sarah and Robert would make it to the end until the fantasy suite dates. Robert, who is adorable but apparently as dumb as a box of rocks, kept his jeans on in bed and pushed Sarah's hand away when she tried to unbutton them. Then, he acted super confused and hurt when she broke up with him the next day, crying as she explained that she didn't feel like he even liked her. Poor Robert just couldn't comprehend how wearing jeans in bed could possibly be sending a negative message to the beautiful girl you're sleeping next to.

For Cody and Michelle – who have quickly become our favorite beautifully mismatched couple of the season – everything was great, and stayed great. Relationship gurus Sean & Catherine, Desiree & Chris, and Molly & Jason were pleasantly surprised and fully believed these two are madly in love with each other. Cody and Michelle also definitely did not struggle in the fantasy suite, and Michelle seemed quite pleased when they got back to the bungalow in the morning.

As for Lacey and Marcus, things are better than great. They're engaged! At the final rose ceremony, Marcus asked for some time alone with Lacey, and he popped the question on the beach. We don't know where he got the ring or when he had time to do that, but it was huge and it was a very sweet moment.

We're obsessed with this show and actually quite sad that it's over for now. Luckily, it's been renewed for a second season, so basically we would like to put in a formal request to fast forward to next summer so we can do it all again.

So what did you think? Will you watch again next summer? Were you happy to hear that Cody and Michelle and Lacey and Marcus are all still together? Were you surprised to learn that Elise and Chris broke up after two weeks? Were you pleased to learn that Robert still sleeps in his jeans? Let us know in the comments!
