InStyle's annual Toronto Film Festival party with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association was the place to be last night.

The late night soirée—doors didn't open until 10 p.m.—took place at the Windsor Arms Hotel.

Here's what we saw…

Benedict Cumberbatch had just flown in from Europe. His super casual look included wearing a newsboy cap backwards. He chatted with The Equalizer's David Harbour.

Cumberbatch, in town to promote The Imitation Game, told me he never thought in his wildest dreams that he'd win the Emmy like he did a couple of weeks ago for his work on Sherlock.

Jessica Chastain looked chic in a little black dress and her ginger bangs. She also had just arrived from Europe, where she was honored at the Deauville American Film Festival. The Miss Julie star shared a VIP table with Chloe Grace Moretz, who was wearing killer black leather Saint Laurent pants.

Eddie Redmayne looked sharp in a suit and made sure his fiance Hannah Bagshawe was well taken care of, holding her hand whenever he could. Redmayne's The Theory of Everything co-stars Felicity Jones and Matthew Goode also made it to the party.

In a corner at the front of the ballroom, newly single hottie Ansel Elgort and Laura Dern had a Fault In Our Stars reunion in a corner by the entrance of the party.

Salma Hayek was one of the first to arrive. The producer of the animated film Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet made a beeline for the buffet. Hayek later chatted with Jon Stewart and Gael García Bernal, stars in The Daily Show host's directorial debut, Rosewater.

Bernal had even more to celebrate—he told me he was happy knowing that Who Is Dayani Cristal?, his powerful documentary about migrant workers and immigration, was airing on television this weekend on Univision and Fuse.

Jake Gyllenhaal was also pretty early as was Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. and his preggers wife Susan Downey, who were lead to their table by a small army of security.

Also in attendance were Channing Tatum, Naomi Watts, Anthony Mackie, Suits star Rick HoffmanQuvenzhane Wallis, Kevin Costner, newly married Zachary Levi and Missy Peregrym, Noomi Rapace, Revenge's Madeline Stowe and Juliette Binoche.

Earlier in the evening, Giorgio Armani celebrated the premiere of Films of City Frames with director Ed Zwick at the CN Tower. Guests included The Equalizer stars Denzel Washington and Melissa Leo, Holly Hunter, Elisha Cuthbert and more.
