An intruder broke in to the Thelma & Louise star's Manhattan apartment over the weekend and made off with a camera, laptop and jewelry, E! News can confirm. According to a New York Police Department spokesperson, the intruder broke in to Sarandon's apartment between the hours of 9 p.m. Saturday night and 3 a.m. Monday morning.

The intruder "entered through the terrace door," according to police, who are still searching for a suspect in the burglary. Fortunately, no one was home at the time of the incident.

An NYPD spokesperson told E! News Monday that at this time the value of property taken is still unknown.

Sources told the New York Post that Sarandon's 22-year-old son Miles left the apartment around 8 p.m. Saturday and returned home at about 4 a.m. "to find the home in disarray." According to the Post's report, the burglar used a ladder to hop from the roof next door to the top of Sarandon's nine-story building and then entered her lower-floor apartment through an open terrace door.

Sources said Sarandon was out of town at the time of the burglary.
