Watch: Is a "Romy and Michele" Reunion in the Works?

Isn't it time already that Romy and Michele go to another high school reunion?

It was 17 years ago that Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow cracked our asses up playing two 28-year-olds who decide to embellish their lives in order to shine at their 10-year high school reunion in Romy and Michele's High School Reunion.

Sorvino tells me that she and Kudrow as well as the movie's creator and writer, Robin Schiff, want to do a sequel to the 1997 cult favorite, but Disney doesn't seem to agree.

"Disney, if you're listening—everybody wants it!" the Oscar winner said at last night's Emmy Awards Performers Peer Group Celebration at the Montage Beverly Hills. "Me and Lisa and Robin would love to do a sequel. We have asked Disney before. It's Disney that has to decide to say yes."

Sorvino added, "I don't think they realize what a cult phenomenon it has become. I mean, people dress up as us for Halloween!"

In fact, while Sorvino was at Comic-Con last week to promote her new BBC America drama series Intruders, she was bombarded by Romy and Michele fans.

"People were like, 'Why aren't Romy and Michele at Comic-Con?'" Sorvino said. "I was like, 'It's not a current movie. It's a while ago.' And it was like, 'When are you coming back? When are you going to come here for the sequel?'"

Here's hoping Disney makes the right move.

Now we want to hear from you. Do you want to see more of Romy and Michele? Let us know in the comments section below.
