If you're worried Girl Meets World won't deliver like Boy Meets World, fear not!

"Boy Meets World was so top of the line, but Girl Meets World will live up to those standards," GMW star Peyton Meyer told me at the Maleficent premiere on Wednesday night in L.A. "I'm ready to roll."

And so is Rowan Blanchard, the title star of the Disney spin-off. "I'm really excited," she said. "I auditioned for it like two years ago, I think so I can't tell you how excited I am for the world to finally see it."

Set to premiere on Friday, June 27 on the Disney Channel, Girl Meets World reunites Boy stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, who are now married on the show and parents of daughter Riley played by Rowan and her younger brother Auggie (August Maturo).

Rowan admits she didn't see many episodes of the original series, but as soon as she booked GMW, "she went back and watched all of them."

She understands the fandemonium surrounding BMW. "I think it has a timeless quality to it," Rowan said. "Obviously, it took place in the 1990s, but the life lessons are still relevant now."

Peyton says his 22-year-old brother "freaked out" about him joining the new series because "he grew up watching Boy Meets World."

And it sounds like Savage and Fishel are more than just playing parents on the show.

Rowan gushed, "Ben is like the silly dad and Danielle really cares for us like we're her kids."

Girl Meets World debuts Friday, June 27 at 9:45 p.m. on Disney Channel after the world premiere of Zapped, the network's newest Original Movie.
