Though he's been living it up at the Cannes Film Festival, Justin Bieber has still made time to work on his music.

The Canadian singer took to Instagram to give his fans a taste of a new song, "It's Working," posting a video that proves Bieber isn't afraid to show off his emotional side, calling out someone's ability to "hurt" him.

"You know exactly what to do to hurt me/ It's working, it's working," the Biebs croons in the snippet. "You know exactly what to do to hurt me/ It's working, it's working."

Hm...who could the 20-year-old be singing about? Perhaps ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez

This isn't the first new song Bieber has released that's made fans wonder if he has his former GF in mind while in the studio. His last track, "Hard 2 Face Reality," which was released in late April, found the Biebs singing about how "it ain't easy" being alone.

"Sometimes it's hard to face reality/ Even though you might get mad at me," he crooned in the slow jam. "Don't be afraid to stand alone/ Don't be afraid to stand outside the door alone/ I know it's hard away from home/ It ain't easy all alone."

On the same day he posted the "It's Working" sneak peek, Bieber shared a serene pic of himself standing by the water, watching the sunrise in Monaco. "Went to watch the sunrise by the rocks," he captioned the photo. "A moment I will never forget."

Of course, it wasn't all emotional song previews and reflective snaps on Bieber's Instagram; the singer also posted a shirtless photo of himself on a yacht on Saturday, May 24, just days after meeting up with rumored former flame Barbara Palvin, who he was spotted getting cozy with during a yacht party at the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday night.

"I just wanna go fast" - Ricky Bobby. Monaco ♛#Formula1," he captioned the pic, referencing Will Ferrell's racecar-driving character from Talladega Nights.
