And which makeup mishap can be the most awkward? Powder gone wrong.
Just because you're a star doesn't mean you aren't susceptible to a powder gaffe every now and then. Case in point: Angelina Jolie. Angie stepped out to the premiere of Brad Pitt's film Normal Heart in NYC last night looking like she just came from baking a cake and never wiped the flour off her forehead.
But even though her makeup mishap looks extreme, it's actually a pretty common celebrity slip-up. Stars like Nicole Kidman and Drew Barrymore both also suffered from over-powdering right before stepping onto the red carpet for their movie premieres.
Packing on the powder is a common mistake because celebs know they're going to be photographed left and right, so sometimes they overdo it. For example, Eva Longoria stepped out once looking like she had a bad ski mask burn around her eyes—but it was just over-powdering.
Uma Thurman and Arianna Huffington can also relate to Angelina's error. They've both showed up to big events looking perfectly polished…except for the glaring powder on their face.
Even Hollywood guys can suffer a powder malfunction. We're looking at you, Jon Hamm. The Mad Men star tried to combat a shiny complexion with powder during The Paley Center's Annual Los Angeles Benefit…but ended up with a glob of white makeup on the bridge of his nose.
So what can we learn from all these powder blunders? Well, everyone has an off beauty day, for one, and two, always carry a compact mirror!
