Actress slightly stumbles while departing the annual event in New York City

Hayden Panettiere was absolutely stunning at the 2014 Met Gala in New York City on Monday.

And the Dennis Blasso dress she wore to the big shindig definitely got people's attention. In more ways than one!

Yes, the gown looked simply elegant on the Nashville star, but its length also proved to be a bit of a challenge at one point.

As she made her way out of the event, the 23-year-old actress wound up slightly stumbling while walking down the stairs.

But without missing a beat, the gal quickly got back up, smiled that infectious grin of hers and held up the dress a bit so as to avoid a repeat performance.

Panettiere's attendance at the Met Gala came just hours after it was reported that she has postponed her wedding to Urkrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko due to the current conflict in Ukraine.

"Everything that's happening in Ukraine definitely put a hold on things. But we have time," Panettiere told Parade magazine.

Panettiere announced her engagement to Klitschko in Oct. 2013.
