It turns out that Selena Gomez and Kendall Jenner have been pals "for some time" despite their recent outing coming as a surprise for many.
The two were spotted last week grabbing a bite to eat at Joan's on Third last Friday and left fans wondering how they knew each other.
According to sources, the two lovely ladies have mutual friends and first linked up back in 2009 at a record release party for Selena at Siren Studios in Los Angeles.
And it looks like Kendall isn't the only Jenner who considers themselves pals with the "Come & Get It" singer.
"Kendall and Kylie [Jenner] have always been fans of Selena," our source told us.
So were Kendall and Selena brewing up some future business endeavors together during their ladies' lunch?
Sadly, no, an insider tells us that they were just catching up and that they don't have any plans lined up to work together anytime soon.
In other surprise gal-pal news, Selena enjoyed a girls' night out last week with none other than Zooey Deschanel.
She shared a cute photo booth snapshot of two of them and a third pal hanging out at Soho House in L.A. on Instagram with the caption, "Ladies being ladies. Ladies night."
