Shailene Woodley knew one of the first questions she'd be asked about Divergent would be about locking lips with her hunky co-star Theo James.
"He's an incredibly masculine man with a beautiful soulful heart—and he was a great kisser," she told People magazine last month.
But that's not the answer she wanted to give. "I've been trying to think of funny jokes to say, but I just haven't thought of anything funny," Woodley recently told me. "So yeah, if you want your headline to be 'Theo James Is a Good Kisser,' you can have it."
The 22-year-old actress had her first real-life kiss when she was 15.
"I was the latest bloomer there ever was," she told Marie Claire magazine. "I was still playing with Barbies at 14 and didn't have my first kiss until 15-and-a-half. He had big, beautiful lips, and I was like, 'I don't know what I'm going to do with those.'"
After Divergent, Woodley says she's headed back to independent films.
"Indies are where it's at," Woodley said.
She explained, "Studio films, there are so many cooks in the kitchen. It's like, there are just a lot of people. Independent film is so nice because the same people in the editing room are the same people who were on set with you that day."
Divergent, based on Veronica Roth's best-selling young adult novel, also stars Maggie Q, Kate Winslet and Miles Teller. It hits theaters on Friday.
