Mick Jagger and L'Wren Scott were very much still a couple when she died.

So insists Jagger's rep, who is slamming a report that claims the Rolling Stones frontman and the fashion designer had broken up before her death, which is being treated as a probable suicide. She was found this morning in her Manahattan apartment.

"The story in the New York Post re a split between Mick Jagger and L'Wren Scott is 100 % untrue," the rep tells E! News. "There is absolutely no basis in fact to this story. It is a horrible and inaccurate piece of gossip during this very tragic time for Mick."

Earlier today, Jagger was said to be "completely shocked and devastated."

Sources have told us that Scott did not seem depressed or had exhibited any warning signs that she was considering taking her own life.

One insider tells E! News that, as far as she knew, Jagger and Scott were still together.

"They loved each other and were wonderful together," the source says. "They had a very cool relationship and a deep respect for one another. They have been together forever and there was no sign that things were ever changing in that regard."

Jagger, who started dating Scott in 2001, has been touring with the Stones and was in Australia when he received the news.

"L'Wren was very close to Mick's children," the source added. "She adored them all. She loved them like they were her own....She was a wonderful person. Kind, generous and lots of fun. Everyone adored L'Wren."

So it would seem based on the outpouring of tributes in response to her truly sudden and shocking death.

Vogue editor Anna Wintour wrote that she was "deeply saddened" and had nothing but the utmost praise for Scott.

"L'Wren was a total perfectionist, someone who absolutely embodied everything her marvelous clothes stood for: strength of character combined with a confident and powerful style," Wintour stated. "In person, L'Wren was always unbelievably generous, gracious, kind, and so much fun. Her old world American manners and charm were from another time, but her sensibility was always fiercely modern. We will all miss her."

In a statement released exclusively to E! News, famed fashion photographer Bruce Weber candidly called the loss "such sad news."

"It's such sad news about L'Wren Scott. It's hard to comprehend," he said of the model turned designer. "I adored L'Wren from the moment I met her and took her picture and I told her she was so special—she'll find her way in Paris. And she did. Ever since then I used to tease her that she had the most beautiful legs I had ever seen on any girl. I used to call her 'Pretty Legs.' She left us too early."
