Allison Williams is on cloud nine after Ricky Van Veen proposed late last month.

The Girls star popped by Late Night With Seth Meyers Tuesday, where she admitted that she can't stop gazing at her diamond engagement ring. "I am obsessed with it," Williams said. "I stare at it a lot."

With a rock like that, who can blame her?

Williams said she was "completely" surprised when the CollegeHumor co-founder asked her to be his wife: "The funniest thing about that is I consider myself someone who is impossible to surprise, and yet I am constantly surprised by things. But I walk around the world poised and ready for a surprise."

She then offered an example, saying, "On my 25th birthday [in 2013] it was particularly bad. I went to the movies and I opened the movie theatre door and I went, 'Everyone's here...that I don't know. A room full of strangers, got it.' And then I would walk into a restaurant and be like, 'Hey...people in the restaurant that I don't know.' I guess that definitely could mean that I'm in a constant state of disappointment, but instead it means that I live life one potential surprise to the next."

"And yet a surprise snuck through on you," host Seth Meyers said with a laugh.

"A total surprise and the best kind of surprise," Williams said. "We're really, really thrilled." She added, "It feels a little different. The investment is there. It just changes the stakes, clearly. But it's really fun."

Being engaged has changed Williams' perspective when she watches ABC's The Bachelor, her favorite reality dating program. "Suddenly the show feels real! I understand the stakes for the first time ever, which is so weird because I have empathy, but for some reason it's never occurred to me, like, 'They're getting engaged on this show!'" the TV star said, smiling. "I was filled with anxiety for the contestants."

How does she feel about Juan Pablo Galavis? "Listen, he is a man who is very complicated. He's filled with contradictions. He loves his daughter. He says, 'Look at me,' a lot. It's demanding but sweet."

Williams is such a devoted viewer that producers sent her a surprise gift just a few weeks ago.

"I'm such a big fan of The Bachelor. I talk about it all the time. I will no shut up about it!" she recalled. "They sent me a bouquet of roses on Valentine's Day—the show, not Juan Pablo, not Chris Harrison, unfortunately. The show sent me a dozen roses and said, 'Will you accept these roses?' And I did."
