In the final moments of The Vampire Diaries' last episode, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) finally (!) realized that Elena (Nina Dobrev) isn't really Elena at all—it's Katherine (Dobrev, part two). Hey, you'd think a girl's first true love and her BFF would be able to tell the difference, no?
That's exactly what the duo, plus Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), her brother; Bonnie (Kat Graham), her other BFF; Matt (Zach Roerig), her childhood love, and Tyler (Michael Trevino), that guy she occasionally talks to because they have mutual Facebook friends, are scratching their heads over in our exclusive sneak peek at the CW hit's all-new episode, "Gone Girl," airing Thursday, March 6...
"Katherine is a passenger in Elena, except it's worse because none of us seemed to notice," Caroline says in our exclusive clip above. She also calls Katherine "conniving and sneaky" before saying they are "the worst friends ever" for not noticing the supernatural switcheroo.
Of course, no meeting of the "Anti-Katherine Pierce Club" is complete without a quick rundown of her transgressions, which include using Caroline's toothpaste...and tricking Stefan into kissing her. (So yeah, she's done worse.)
In the episode, the group will come up with a desperate plan to save Elena, with Bonnie and Jeremy turning to Liv (Penelope Mitchell) for help. We'll also get to see flashbacks of Nadia's (Olga Fonda) long search for her mother.
The Vampire Diaries airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on the CW.
