Hashtag PoorLeo.
In case you didn't know, the Internet really, really, really wanted Leonardo DiCaprio to win an Oscar last night. He's been nominated five times (if you count his producing credit on Wolf of Wall Street), and he's come up empty each and every time at the Academy Awards. Matthew McConaughey beat him last night in the Best Actor race for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, and the Internet mourned for Leo. And it mourned hard.
Here is just a small sampling of the Internet's reactions to Leo's fourth missed Oscar win:
Stop rubbing it in, Matt.
Leo smash!
Leo smash...Oscar!

"You can actually pinpoint the second when his heart rips in half..."
Some of his best acting work right here.

We would totally watch this movie. And then nominate it for an Oscar. Which Leo would probably not win.
Oscar has legs, and he knows how to use them...to keep Leo at bay.
Maybe if he would have just taken the damn pizza...

That image is scary, regardless of your Oscar record.
Sad Leo selfie.

Leo's fans are dedicated, if anything else.
Get there, Leo. Get there! Dig deep....get to that Oscar!
Cold. Blooded.
And then there's the people who likened Leo's snubs to Justin Bieber's lack of Grammys, which just…no.
Leonardo DiCaprio is the Justin Bieber of the Oscars. #TheOscars2014 #Oscars2014 #Oscars

Leonardo DiCaprio is to Oscars as Justin Bieber is to Grammys.

For those of you keeping score, Justin has been nominated for two Grammys, and that was back in 2011. If you need more reasons why Justin Bieber and Leonardo DiCaprio are not the same, please think about your life choices.
You'll get them next year, Leo! At least we'll always have this GIF:
