Selena Gomez had a big year in 2013—it's no wonder that she needed some time to regroup.

The Ruddlerless star secretly completed a two-week rehabilitation program last month, E! News has confirmed. Gomez, 21, sought treatment at Arizona's Dawn at the Meadows beginning Sunday, Jan. 5.

"There was no substance abuse," a source tells E! News. "She just needed to clear her head." Gomez's rep previously confirmed the singer "voluntarily spent time at Meadows but not for substance abuse."

Gomez kept quiet about her stint in rehab during the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 20. She also appeared to be in good spirits at the Beats Music launch party on Jan. 24 and the Hollywood Stands Up to Cancer benefit on Jan. 28.

"She's never been better," the source says. "She's strong and great."

The former Disney Channel star canceled the Australian leg of her Stars Dance tour in December 2013. "It has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first," Gomez said at the time. "I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be." A source told E! News that the singer-actress "had been working non-stop for six years. She hit a wall."

In addition to promoting Spring Breakers and Getaway last year, the multitalented star also released her debut solo album, Stars Dance. She completed her 55-date tour of the U.S. and Europe on Nov. 26.

Now that she's taken some time off (and reconnected with pals like Demi Lovato), Gomez is getting back to work. She launches the Spring/Summer Adidas NEO label collection on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
