Zachary Levi isn't rocking that beard for a role.

The Chuck star joked to E! News that his facial hair is due to "unemployment," going on to give his take on this year's Super Bowl at the Bud Light Hotel Saturday night.

"Super Bowls are that. They are super," Levi, who now calls New York City home, said. "It is insane to see one singular sporting event take over an entire city."

"The parties that come out of it and the Foo Fighters…it's gnarly," he continued. "I'm just super blessed that I do what I do and people say ‘hey come to our party and hang out and drink some Bud Light."

Levi isn't really rooting for a team in this year's Super Bowl just yet, considering he feels like "the Seahawk and the Broncos are just really both great teams, and they both deserve to be [at the Super Bowl]."

The thesp does seems to be leaning toward the Broncos though, saying, "I really love Russell and Peyton, but Peyton is the veteran and he deserves some more rings."

Earlier in the day, Levi got a chance to try his hand at football in the DirecTV Beach Bowl, along with E! News correspondent Alicia Quarles, Nina Dobrev, Chrissy Teigen, John Legend and more.

"Joe Montana was my coach. I scored a touch down. Our team won. I was very happy," he said of the celebrity-filled game.

Levi went on to watch the Foo Fighters and Zac Brown Band rock the house at the Bud Light Hotel's Main Event concert.

The show's headliners—the Foo Fighters—played some of their biggest hits during their two-hour set, including "Best of You" and "All My Life."
