Demi Lovato is staying strong!

One week before she kicks off her Neon Lights tour with Fifth Harmony and Little Mix, the "Heart Attack" singer is opening up about her inspiring, personal journey.

"I don't think anybody can save your life except for yourself," she tells Giuliana Rancic in the new special series Beyond Candid With Giuliana. "That was a key element in realizing I had to change."

That change involved self-acceptance and being able to share her experiences truthfully.

"I don't place any of the blame on anybody else except for really myself for not being so honest," Demi explains in the candid, honest conversation.

In addition to opening up about her past, the former X-Factor judge is also sharing details about her close friendship with Joe Jonas.

In December 2013, Joe wrote an honest essay for New York magazine that detailed his life as a Jonas Brothers member.

His confession included details of smoking weed with Demi and Miley Cyrus

"He had warned me a couple of days before," Demi says. "I don't even remember [smoking] because clearly, I was chillin'."

With no hard feelings, Demi assures us that she will always be friends with her Disney costar.

"I called him and I was like, ‘Relax. We're good. Just don't be so stupid next time,'" Demi recalls. "I love you, it's all good. We're always going to be friends."
