Given how Ed Sheeran has toured with Taylor Swift, the guy has certainly seen his friend bust a move on numerous occasions. So, obviously, watching her dance while the likes of Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons performed at Sunday's Grammys surely didn't come as too much of a surprise.
But unbeknownst to the viewers watching at home, Swift's chain mail dress actually "snapped" at one point while she was up on her feet grooving.
"It broke," Sheeran told E! News at the Warner Music Group's post-Grammy party. "There was this country song and she was dancing like Rick Ross and it snapped. It wasn't really a wardrobe malfunction. It's what's meant to happen to a dress like that. You're not meant to stay in that sort of dress."
Sheeran also playfully clarified that Swift was shanking and not twerking.
"Twerking is what strippers do," he said. "It's a fact. If you go to a strip club, not that I go to strip clubs, but if you go to a strip club, they twerk."
Sheeran then proceeded to look directly in the camera and addressed a certain pop star with mock seriousness.
"You shouldn't be encouraging little kids to twerk. Stop doing this, Miley Cyrus, please," he pleaded. "Stop. Stop. Sing 'Wrecking Ball.' 'Wrecking Ball' is a great song."
