Finally, something's more terrifying for Kristen Stewart than the overzealous Twilight fan base.

The 23-year-old actress, who recently signed on to the Drake Doremus-directed film Equals, opened up about her forthcoming sci-fi flick in a new interview, admitting she's "terrified" to take on her latest role.

"I can't believe I agreed to do it," the former Twilight star said of her upcoming role in the film, which also stars X-Men stud (and Jennifer Lawrence's beau) Nicholas Hoult. "I'm terrified of it. Though it's a movie with a really basic concept, it's overtly ambitious."

Based on the screenplay by Nathan Parker, Stewart describes the story as a slightly updated version of the 1956 film 1984, which is based on George Orwell's famous dystopian novel of the same name.

According to Doremus, the film is "about love in a world where love really doesn't exist anymore," and in late October, Deadline reported that Stewart and Hoult will play a couple.

"In Equals, things go wrong because you can't deny the humanity in everyone," Robert Pattinson's former flame explained. "It's the most devastating story."

And because of the heavy content, K.Stew is putting all her trust into the hands of the Like Crazy director.

"I trust Drake's process and I know we will do something really natural and real," the actress revealed. "But I told Drake, 'Don't expect that I am going to be able to do this. It's too hard.' But he wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. I've given directors disclaimers before, but never this much."

Doremus also said Jennifer Lawrence was one of the first actresses to read the script, although he revealed the Oscar winner, who was brought to tears by the story,  could not see herself in the role.

(Side note: Remember how the American Hustle star also auditioned for Twilight before Kristen landed the part?!)

"It became evident in my head that Nick and Kristen would have great chemistry," Doremus said before Stewart added, "It's a love story of epic, epic, epic proportion. I'm scared."
